Hello. I'm new to this forum and so forgive me if you see my message posted one or two times too many. A court reporter and I were discussing the use of quotation marks. She uses quotation marks frequently, such as: He said, "She hit me from behind," and, "What did she mean by 'hit'?", even though the attorney ever said the actual word quote. I was taught that you only use quotation marks when the attorneys say quote. Thanks for any feedback. gkmay
