I am an experienced scopist from Texas, previously a court reporter for 20 years.  When I was reporting and using a scopist, the standard practice was to pay that scopist on billout (same with proofreaders).  I have compromised with my reporter (Florida reporter) and I bill her every two weeks.  She is now asking me to bill her monthly because her "backup" scopist bills her monthly.  Before I agree -- because it will be very hard for me financially to do so -- I would like to get a consensus from some of you on your billing/payment schedules.
